ROBERT ATKINSON, ESQ.
Robert Atkinson is a seasoned Las Vegas attorney, with tremendous experience in commercial and residential real estate and many other areas. His unique analytical background allows him to provide unusually insightful advice across a wide range of subjects, which is greatly appreciated by his clients.
Mr. Atkinson attended Montana State University for his undergraduate studies, from which he received a B.S. in Physics with highest honors (4.0 GPA), including minors in mathematics and economics. After working as a high-energy laser researcher for NASA at Los Alamos National Laboratories, he went on to obtain an MBA in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University. In Washington, D.C. he worked for many years as a management consultant for two prestigious global consultancies: Deloitte & Touche and A.T. Kearney. During this period he advised major U.S. and international banks and telecommunications carriers on market entry and growth strategies in the emergent internet and wireless phone industries. At 28, Mr. Atkinson became the youngest junior partner in the history of A.T. Kearney.
Growing tired of the constant travel required in the consulting industry (45+ weeks per year), he applied for and was accepted into law school at the Georgetown University Law Center. He graduated law school in 2006 and passed the Nevada State Bar shortly afterwards.
Mr. Atkinson owns a boutique law firm located in Las Vegas, Nevada. He specializes in commercial and residential real estate, commercial and consumer bankruptcy, business law, commercial litigation, and trusts. He has conducted a significant amount of real estate transactional contract work, including acquisitions, financing, leases, and 1031 exchanges, as well as a large number of real estate-focused litigation and bankruptcy cases, including receiverships, foreclosures, and chapter 11 bankruptcies. He also has been the court-designated attorney for six separate chapter 7 trustees in over 250 bankruptcy cases, many of which involved the sale and liquidation of extremely distressed real property. This experience provides tremendous insights for clients in identifying possible trouble points in real estate transactions. His clients also appreciate the deep business background sensibility that he brings to his legal analysis.
Mr. Atkinson has been a featured speaker at over three dozen conferences, workshops, and panels. He has published several business articles and white papers, and has co-authored several scientific papers. His interests include macroeconomics, number theory, cryptography, financial markets, and computer architecture.
